How To Set Up IRC Chat Room

Hello Guys , i decide to make a simple tutorial explaining how to set up IRC chat from scratch and what is the most useful Commands.we also going to use GeekShed IRC Network for our tutorial.

Tools Needed:
  • IRC Client ( i recommend Xchat Client Download Here )
  • a Brain

Step One : Configuring the IRC Client

1.Open Xchat , you will see something like this

2.Click The Add Button , then name it
3.Click Edit so we can configure the server

4.Replace " newserver/6667 " with " Irc.geekshed.net/6667 "
5.After Editing the server click close and press connect

6.now you will see this it means that we have connected successfully to the IRC server in that case it's Irc.geekshed.net

Step Two : Making a Chat Room

For making a Chat room all we have to do is typing some commands to register the channel

1.First Type " /join #Channel " Replace "channel" with your channel name. You will be given Channel Operator By default.
NOTE : If somebody else already created a channel with the same name, you may find yourself in a channel with somebody there already, or you may be alone but the server does not op you and says "This channel has been registered with ChanServ"

2.Now we have to register our nickname so we can take the Chat Room , so we type " /msg nickserv register password email@address " they will send you a message into your registered email with how to activate it

3.After Registering you nickname we have to register the channel also by typing " /msg chanserv REGISTER #channelname password description "

IMPORTANT: When you return to the server later, you may login with “/msg nickserv identify password“.

We are Done , you have your own Chat Room
Visit This Site to learn more commands about your chat room

If you have any questions post here.
